The Macallan Distillery Day Trip
£500
A private Speyside adventure for up to 4 people,
combining Scottish shortbread, traditional whisky craftsmanship, Dufftown and a visit to The Macallan.
Why simply travel to The Macallan and come straight home? Make the journey part of the day and discover a little more of Speyside along the way.
For this itinerary, we recommend booking your The Macallan Distillery experience for the early afternoon. This gives us time to enjoy several interesting stops before your distillery visit, followed by a relaxing journey back to Aberdeen.
Start with Dean’s of Huntly
We'll leave Aberdeen in the morning and make our way towards Dean’s of Huntly, home of the famous Scottish shortbread.
Take some time to visit the visitor centre, browse the shop and enjoy the factory viewing gallery, where you can see more of the production process.
There is also a bistro if you'd like something to eat or drink.
Any purchases, food or drinks at Dean’s are paid for by you directly.
Discover the craft behind whisky
From Huntly, we'll continue towards Speyside for a visit to the Speyside Cooperage.
This is a chance to discover the traditional craft of making and repairing the oak casks that play such an important role in Scotch whisky production.
You book and pay for your Cooperage experience directly with the Speyside Cooperage in advance.
Once you have your booking time confirmed, send us the details and we'll make sure the rest of the itinerary works around it.
Lunch and a wander around Dufftown
We'll then continue to Dufftown, the heart of Speyside's whisky country.
This gives you time to explore the town and stop for lunch before continuing to The Macallan.
Lunch is not included in the price of your private day trip and is paid for by you directly at the venue.
We'll allow plenty of time so that you can enjoy lunch without having to watch the clock.
The Macallan Distillery
After lunch, we'll make our way to The Macallan Estate and Distillery for your chosen experience.
You book your Macallan experience directly with The Macallan in advance.
All visits are by advance appointment, so once you've made your booking, simply send us the date, time and details of your experience and we'll plan the rest of your day around it. (Feel free to discuss the times of booking with us prior to booking)
The Macallan is located in a beautiful rural setting near Craigellachie, making having your own private driver particularly convenient.
Finish the day at The Foghouse
After your Macallan experience, we'll begin the journey back towards Aberdeen.
Before returning home, we can make a relaxing stop at The Foghouse in Inverurie, giving you the opportunity to unwind after your day in Speyside and, if you wish, enjoy a final dram.
Then we'll continue back to Aberdeen.
Your private Speyside day trip
£500 for up to 4 people.
Your private vehicle and driver are available for the day, giving you the freedom to enjoy the journey without worrying about driving or arranging separate transport between each stop.
Suggested itinerary:
Aberdeen → Dean’s of Huntly → Speyside Cooperage → Dufftown & lunch → The Macallan Distillery → The Foghouse, Inverurie → Aberdeen
This is a suggested itinerary and can be adjusted around your plans.
Once you have your confirmed Cooperage and Macallan booking times, send them to us and we'll work out the rest of your day.
Please note: the price of the private day trip does not include admission or experience fees at The Macallan or the Speyside Cooperage, food or drinks, purchases at Dean’s of Huntly, lunch or any other attraction admission.
