Cardhu Distillery Day Trip
£500
A private journey into Speyside for up to 4 people,
combining traditional whisky craftsmanship with time to discover Dufftown and Cardhu.
A day at Cardhu can be much more than simply travelling to a distillery, spending an hour or two there and heading straight home. With a private vehicle and driver for the day, we can build the journey around the experiences you have chosen and give you time to enjoy Speyside along the way.
Let's plan your day first
Because both the Speyside Cooperage and Cardhu Distillery offer different experiences and booking times, we'd recommend speaking to us before you make your bookings.
For this particular itinerary, we're suggesting:
Mid-morning — Speyside Cooperage
Early afternoon — Cardhu Distillery
Once we've discussed your preferred date and timings, we'll help you work out how much time to allow between each part of the day.
That means you can book your experiences with confidence, knowing that the rest of your itinerary has been planned around them.
Discover the craft behind the cask
Our first destination will be the Speyside Cooperage, where you'll discover one of the traditional crafts that remains an essential part of Scotch whisky production.
A visit here adds something completely different to your distillery experience — instead of simply tasting the finished whisky, you can see the craftsmanship that goes into one of the vessels in which it matures.
Your Cooperage experience must be booked and paid for directly by you.
Please send us your confirmed booking time once arranged.
Dufftown — the heart of whisky country
After the Cooperage, we'll continue to Dufftown.
This is your opportunity to take a leisurely walk around the town and stop for lunch before continuing to Cardhu.
There is no need for us to dictate where you eat. You choose the restaurant or café that suits you, and lunch is paid for by you directly.
We'll simply make sure there's enough time in the itinerary for you to enjoy it without watching the clock.
Cardhu in the afternoon
We'll then head onwards to Cardhu Distillery, situated in the heart of Speyside near Archiestown and Aberlour.
Cardhu offers a range of visitor experiences, from introductory tours and tastings through to more specialist experiences, so you choose the experience that's right for you and book it directly with Cardhu in advance.
For this itinerary, we're suggesting an early-afternoon booking.
Once you've secured your place, send us the confirmed date, time and experience details and we'll make sure your private day trip is timed around it.
Time to relax before heading home
After your Cardhu visit, we'll begin the journey back towards Aberdeen.
But there's one more opportunity to slow things down before the day comes to an end.
We'll make a stop at The Foghouse in Inverurie, where you can relax after your day in Speyside and, if you wish, enjoy a final dram before we continue back to Aberdeen.
Your private Cardhu day trip
£500 for up to 4 people
Your vehicle and private driver are available for the day, giving you the freedom to enjoy the journey without worrying about driving between the different stops.
A suggested route
Aberdeen → Speyside Cooperage → Dufftown & lunch → Cardhu Distillery → The Foghouse, Inverurie → Aberdeen
This is not a fixed itinerary. The exact timings will be worked out around your Cooperage and Cardhu bookings, and we're happy to discuss your plans with you before you make those reservations.
Please contact us first with your preferred date and approximate plans. We'll help you work out the timings before you book your distillery experiences.
Please note: the price of the private day trip does not include admission or experience fees at the Speyside Cooperage or Cardhu Distillery, lunch, food, drinks or any other personal purchases. All attraction and distillery experiences must be booked and paid for directly by you.
