Aberlour Distillery Day Trip
£500
From famous Scottish shortbread to traditional cask making and the whisky heartland of Speyside — finish your day with a visit to Aberlour Distillery before heading home via Inverurie.
For up to four people, this private day trip gives you the freedom to enjoy the journey as much as the destination. Rather than spending the day simply travelling to and from a distillery, we'll build your itinerary around several of the highlights along the route.
Your Speyside adventure begins in Huntly
We'll collect you from Aberdeen in the morning and head north towards Huntly for our first stop at Dean’s of Huntly.
Take a look around the visitor centre, see the shortbread being produced from the factory viewing gallery and perhaps browse the shop for some Scottish treats to take home.
There is also a bistro if you'd like a coffee or something to eat.
Any purchases, food or drinks at Dean’s are paid for by you directly.
From shortbread to whisky casks
We'll then continue towards Speyside and the Speyside Cooperage.
Here you can see another traditional Scottish craft in action and discover how skilled coopers make and repair the oak casks used to mature Scotch whisky.
We recommend booking your Cooperage visit in advance and sending us your confirmed time. That allows us to make sure the rest of your day flows comfortably around your booking.
The Cooperage experience and any associated admission costs are booked and paid for directly by you. (Feel free to chat with us before booking)
A taste of Dufftown
After the Cooperage, we'll head towards Dufftown, giving you the opportunity to explore this historic whisky town before stopping for lunch.
Take your time, have something to eat and enjoy the atmosphere of Speyside before the afternoon's main event.
Lunch is not included in the price of your day trip and is paid for by you directly.
We'll recommend allowing enough time here so that you can enjoy lunch without having to rush off to your distillery appointment.
An afternoon at Aberlour
For this itinerary, we suggest booking your Aberlour Distillery experience for the early afternoon.
Once lunch is finished, we'll make our way to Aberlour for your chosen distillery experience.
Aberlour offers a selection of visitor experiences, so you choose and book the experience directly with the distillery in advance.
Once you have your confirmed date, time and experience, send us the details and we'll plan the day's timings around it. Again, please discuss times with us prior to booking.
That way, you can enjoy your visit knowing that your private driver is waiting to take you onwards afterwards.
One final stop before Aberdeen
After your visit to Aberlour, we'll begin our journey south.
Rather than heading straight back to Aberdeen, we'll make a final stop at The Foghouse in Inverurie.
It's a chance to sit back, relax and, if you wish, enjoy a final dram before we complete the journey back to Aberdeen.
Your private Aberlour day trip
£500 for up to 4 people
Your private vehicle and driver are available for the day, allowing you to enjoy the sights, explore at your own pace and leave the driving to us.
Suggested itinerary
Aberdeen → Dean’s of Huntly → Speyside Cooperage → Dufftown & lunch → Aberlour Distillery → The Foghouse, Inverurie → Aberdeen
The itinerary above is our suggestion, but the day will be planned around your confirmed bookings and the places you'd most like to enjoy.
Once you have your Cooperage and Aberlour booking times, send them to us and we'll work out the rest.
Please note: the price of the private day trip does not include admission or experience fees at Dean’s of Huntly, the Speyside Cooperage or Aberlour Distillery, lunch, food, drinks, purchases or any other attraction admission. Distillery and Cooperage experiences should be booked directly with the relevant venue in advance.
